Lake Calumet/Far South Side Network

Area 24 is Changing...

Area 24 is now known as the Lake Calumet/Far South Side Network.

The 675 schools in the CPS system are now divided into five “collaboratives.” Within each collaborative are networks. There are 19 “networks” within “the collaborative.” The networks replace the previously named 24 area offices. Of the 19 networks, 14 are elementary school networks; five of them are high school networks. Each collaborative includes one high school network and between two to four elementary school networks. What's new in this CPS citywide reorganization is the focus on collaboration between schools in a region, and an emphasis on collaboration. Mr. Harrison Peters will serve as Chief of Schools for the Lake Calumet and Far South Side Networks, combining both elementary and high schools under one umbrella to foster work in aligning curricula and goals from pre-kindergarten through high school.
